 Introduction to Baby Sign Language

Babies already sign when they cry, lift their arms to be picked up, point to a toy, or simply blow you a kiss. Wouldn't it be nice to know more precisely what your baby is trying to tell you?

This workshop introduces signs that are based on the American Sign Language (ASL). It is designed for expectant parents and parents with babies ranging in age from birth to 18 months. Fun activities and songs will show you how easy it can be to integrate simple signs into your everyday routine to jump-start your child’s verbal skills.

Instructor Bill White is the director of Touch Blue Sky’s Baby Sign Language program and a baby sign language instructor for Kaiser Permanente, DayOne Centers, Carmel Blue, Sprout, Natural Resources and many other locations. Bill is passionate about the benefits of signing with babies and is the proud father of two hearing sons who both sign.
