Learn about the law in this book club!

In this club, readers will work through books that are unique stories that also cover legal topics. The club will focus on the legal issues and concepts that arise through the story in the book.

Current Selection: Smiley’s People is a spy novel featuring British master-spy George Smiley. The master spy is called from retirement for the last time to investigate the death of one of his old agents. Smiley learns the General had discovered information that leads to a final confrontation with George Smiley's nemesis, the soviet spymaster Karla. The legal topics the group will pull from this book will focus on international treaties and foreign relations.

Meeting Dates & Location – Main Library, 100 Larkin Street

September 17th, September 24th, October 8th,

October 22nd, November 5th, November 19th & December 10th

All classes will be held in the 1st floor conference room except the November 5th class which will be held in the 3rd floor conference.
