Black Environmental Champions

A display of eight posters, created by the San Francisco Department of the Environment, that celebrates  the achievements of nine living and historical Black Environmental Champions.

Their contributions impact all of our lives, from George Washington Carver’s innovations to make farms more productive to Dr. Robert Bullard founding the environmental justice movement. Local chef and educator, Bryant Terry, is honored for his work promoting a healthy and just food system, as is scientist Warren Washington, whose computer models help us understand climate change.
