In The Chinese Exclusion Act, filmmakers Ric Burns and Li-Shin Yu tackle a complicated yet under told, crucial episode in American history — highlighting the only legislation barring an entire group of immigrants based on ethnicity and race.

Watch history unfold through first-person interviews, intimate narratives, haunting photos, historical footage, and an eclectic array of artifacts.  Witness the steadfast resistance against racism and the resilience of a people that shaped the fabric of the United States well into the 21st century.
