Juliet Shen is an artist, typeface designer, and teacher who lives in Seattle. She designed a typeface for the Lushootseed-speaking Tulalip Tribes of Washington state. She earned an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, England; served on SOTA’s Board of Directors; taught at Seattle’s School of Visual Concepts; and has work included in the Tacoma Art Museum's permanent collection.

The Letterform Lecture Series is part of the Type@CooperWest certificate program in Typeface Design and a partnership with the Cooper Union, the Letterform Archive, and the Marjorie G. and Carl W. Stern Book Arts & Special Collections Center at the San Francisco Public Library. The Book Arts & Special Collections Center includes the Grabhorn Collection on the History of Printing and the Harrison Collection of Calligraphy and Lettering.
