Nike Missile Site in the Marin Headlands

Event detail
Add to my calendar
During the tense years of the Cold War (1953 to 1979), the United States Army built and operated close to 300 Nike missile sites in America, designed to be the last line of defense against Soviet bombers.  Today, the Marin Headlands is home to the museum that houses the only fully restored Nike missile site in the country.  Join us as Dick Huey, Golden Gate National Recreation Area docent, shares stories and slide show images about the historical significance of the site.
