Dr. Tarik Farrar, of City College of San Francisco's African-American Studies Department, will give an interesting and necessary lecture on the often forgotten contributions of Harriet Tubman. He will discuss Tubman's relationship to John Brown and the Harpers Ferry Raid of 1859 and the Battle of Combahee, which was the first military expedition led by any American women.
