This panel addresses how today’s technology tools are changing the way that history is researched, written about, and made accessible, as well as how to find and use these tools to their best advantage. Panelists include Chris Carlsson, the founder of Shaping San Francisco and FoundSF.org, both contributor-driven historical websites; Daniel Hartwig, university archivist, Stanford Libraries; and Barbara Hui, Ph.D., software developer for the Digital Special Collections at the California Digital Library. All will showcase their digital history and digital humanities projects.

Co-sponsored by the San Francisco History Center and the Institute for Historical Study.

The Future of the Past in the Digital Age, 1.0, will take place on March 3rd, at San Francisco History Days at the Old Mint.
