Join award winning documentary filmmaker Jon Leonoudakis for a presentation of films and stories about race and baseball in America.

Jon will present a trio of films from his award winning series on Amazon Prime, The Sweet Spot: A Treasury of Baseball Stories, featuring two world champions from the 20th century: Jim “Mudcat” Grant and Jackie Robinson.

“Mudcat” is the first African-American to win 20 games in the American League and is featured in two films, Raceball on the Inside Corner and Breakfast with JFK.   Jackie Robinson: A Lion in Winter presents journalist Rob Rapoport’s story about meeting and interviewing Jackie Robinson for the Los Angeles Times before Jackie’s passing in 1972.

A booksale for the book Baseball Pioneers follows the event.

Sponsored by the African American Center at the San Francisco Public Library and the Lefty O’Doul Chapter, Society for American Baseball Research (SABR)
