*Portals: A Group Show of Speculative Fictions

Event detail

Portals: A Group Show of Speculative Fictions activates the radical imagination through craft and speculative fiction, giving form to what seems otherwise impossible. The multiverse theory is defined as a theoretical reality that includes a possibly infinite number of parallel universes. Ten artists envision relationships to space and time through the lenses of science-fiction, revenge fantasies, survival, role models, and anti-assimilationist bodies. This show features work by: Dana June Baker, Bo, Becca Cohn, Mona Demone, Zerena Diaz, Jared Gruendl, Lacey Johnson, Leslie Mah, Alex Martinez, and Marissa Medina.

Opening event: Portals: An Opening Performance, Tuesday, August 21, 2018, 6:00 - 7:30 pm, in the James C. Hormel LGBTQIA Center. Featuring a performance by sound artists Babooshka and live readings of queer literature.

Exhibit held over until February 7, 2019
