Hay(na)ku: A 21st-Century Diasporic Poetry Form

Event detail

Discover evocative poetry in the hay(na)ku format in this exhibit at the Filipino American Center at SFPL.

The hay(na)ku is a twenty-first-century, diasporic poetic form invented by Eileen R. Tabios. It is a six-word tercet with the first line being one word, the second line being two words, and the third line being three words.

For this exhibit, on display on the third floor of the Main Library, 19 poets have created hay(na)ku poems and variations on the form.
