Join us as we look with fresh eyes at two newsreels of the Bay Area in the late 1960s. Shot in 1969, in Oakland, "Black Panther," traces the origins and development of the Panther party. Filmed by students and their allies, "San Francisco State: On Strike" documents the creation of the first ethic studies program in an American university.

This is a Films & Videos program from SFPL. From feature films to youth-made videos, we’ve got something great to watch.
