Local author Monika Trobits, author of "Antebellum and Civil War San Francisco: A Western Theater for Northern & Southern Politics," will discuss the daily dramas, power struggles, and political rivalries that developed here in San Francisco during the years leading up to the Civil War. She will also discuss the impact of the war itself on the city and its residents.
