Celebrate Black History Month and learn about your family history with the San Francisco African American Historical and Cultural Society (SFAAHCS) and the San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) by attending workshops and a presentation about DNA and genealogy at the African American Art and Cultural Complex.

Participants will explore genealogy, with emphasis on African Americans, to tell another part of the Black migration story. Learn about genealogy resources that are freely available online and at the San Francisco Public Library. Research assistance will be provided by volunteers from SFAAHCS and a librarian from SFPL. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their discoveries and experiences.

Bring your own laptop, tablet or other Internet powered device. And bring any family trees or specific research questions to the workshops.

All workshops will be held at the African American Historical and Cultural Society, 762 Fulton Street, 2nd floor, San Francisco, CA. Registration is required. Space is limited to 10 persons per session.

FOR REGISTRATION: Call 415-292-6172 or email: info@sfaahcs.org to reserve a space. Leave your name, phone number/email, and the dates/times of workshops you plan to attend.
