Program will be led in partnership with key resource agencies, organizations and groups, as well as organizers and advocacy groups pushing for holistic care and early education for children and in support of healthy thriving families.

An excerpt from The Waiting List documentary film, directed by Bay Area filmmaker Tamara Perkins, will kick off the discussion with community stakeholders. The Waiting List addresses the gender, race and class bias impacting our current childcare and early education system.

After an opening discussion, breakout groups will brainstorm solutions in specific areas related to healthy and thriving children and families with a focus on children 0 to 5. In closing we will share and capture solutions and connect community members with both resources and ways to get involved in community and advocacy efforts in the bay area and beyond.

This is a Films & Videos program from SFPL. From feature films to youth-made videos, we’ve got something great to watch.
