book coverKim Shuck, our current and seventh poet laureate here in San Francisco, has two new books out this season. Deer Trails is the latest in the laureate series from City Lights Press and is a love letter to the city of San Francisco. Murdered Missing is a chapbook on the subject of murdered and missing Indigenous women from FootHills Publishing. Kim and some of her friends will be reading poems in celebration of these books.

A book sale and signing follows the program.

Kim Shuck was born in San Francisco and has spent many years supporting and engaging in some of the poetry scenes in SF and Oakland. Shuck has taught at most levels, maintains a visual arts practice and works with kids. Kim's work has been published in periodicals, but also in four full length books and two chapbooks. Her human children are grown, but she contributes to the upkeep of some community cats who provide that essential deep judgement formerly provided by her sons.

This is a Reading, Writing & Poetry program from SFPL. We love reading/sharing/creating words.
