Representation: From Mainstream to the Margins

In this fun workshop from About Face, we’ll look at how messages on the Internet, social media, movies, TV shows, and ads/commercials can affect how you feel about yourself. You’ll learn the techniques companies use to sell you products, and how social media posts sell ideas to you. Then, we’ll problem-solve: what can you do about it for yourself and to make social change? You’ll get everyday tools you need to fight back against pressure to be someone other than your true self.

No experience necessary. (snacks included!) All programs at The Mix are for teens ages 13 - 18.
