DVD cover

Filmed in Marrakech's legendary "Jemaa El Fna," the central square of the final outpost before venturing into the great beyond of the western Sahara desert, this film is one of the most vivid documents ever presented capturing the raw folk stylings of Moroccan music. Shot at night, the performers manifest their passions right before your eyes, some drifting into extreme characters, others floating in dark, flowering breeze.

Directed by Hisham Mayet, 2004.
