A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows: Date: Thursday, May 16, 2002

Place: Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level The meeting will be called to order. 1. APPROVAL OF THE APRIL 18, 2002 MINUTES - ACTION Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the Minutes of the regular Commission meeting of April 18, 2002. Explanatory document: draft Minutes 2. BOND PROGRAM MANAGER’S REPORT - DISCUSSION (This is a discussion item to allow the Branch Library Bond Program Manager to report on recent bond program related activities and make announcements.) This report will consist of: an informational presentation: no presentation; regular reports: program budget and schedule; site acquisition, active projects; and upcoming community outreach; and special reports: no presentation. Explanatory documents: current Bond Program Budget and detailed schedules 3. ART ENRICHMENT PROGRAM - ACTION Presentation of and discussion of the proposed Art Enrichment Master Plan, and possible action to move 2% mandated for public art from six eligible projects into the Art Enrichment Program Budget established Jan. 17, 2002. Explanatory documents: Art Enrichment Master Plan, proposed Art Enrichment Program Fund. 4. DESIGN EXCELLENCE PROGRAM - DISCUSSION Presentation of, and discussion of Bond Program Design Excellence Guidelines. Explanatory document: Design Excellence Program Guidelines 5. SITE ACQUISITION: PORTOLA BRANCH - ACTION Presentation and discussion of and possible action to request the Department of Real Estate to pursue sites for a new Portola Branch Library. Explanatory document: Portola sites acquisition memo. 6. LIBRARY 2002/2003 BUDGET UPDATE - ACTION Presentation of and discussion of an update report on the 2002/03 Library Budget and possible action to approve Library requested modifications to its proposed 2002/03 Budget. 7. PUBLIC COMMENT - DISCUSSION (This item to allow members of the public to comment on matters within the commission’s purview as well as introduce new agenda for the commission’s consideration.) 8.
