Introduction

On April 1st, 2015, Governor Brown announced an Executive Order mandating drought restrictions (PDF 3.4M) to save water and streamline government response.

With these restrictions in mind, the library has created a page of local, state, and federal governmental drought and water resources.

  • US Drought Portal - The Farm Service Agency, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, and the U.S. Forest Service are just a few federal agencies that contribute to the NIDIS. See how the drought affects your area by entering your zip code into the drought meter.
  • Administration-Wide Response to the Drought -The Obama Administration responds to states affected by the drought. From disaster assistance and loans, to the set-up of food banks, new programs including federal aid is noted on this webpage.
  • Disaster and Drought Information from the United States Department of Agriculture website has information on drought issues across the nation and by county. The site features a list of all states and the counties affected by drought. All 58 counties of California have detailed information listed.
