Work It focuses on supporting job and career seekers, personal finance needs, and small business owners through resources located on our web pages, as well as a robust menu of programs.
Highlights of Work It include programs for job seekers through our partnership with the Employment Development Department to provide How to Get a California State Job, Resume Writing Essentials, and Interviewing Essentials monthly. We partner with local nonprofits SF Reserve, Senior Community Service Employment Program, Jewish Vocational Services, Upwardly Global and professionals to provide further support to job seekers.
Additionally, SFPL’s robust Jobs and Careers portal offers a multitude of options for job seekers, such as live resume, interview and career coaching with JobNow and EDD. Job seekers are encouraged to check out the Library’s free technology workshop series, Tech Time
Our partnership with the Financial Planning Association continues with a virtual speaker series covering topics such as health insurance, finance, and investing. We offer a monthly series on budgeting, saving and investing through local financial professionals. SFPL continues to partner with Smart Money Coaching for expanded one-on-one counsel on budgeting basics.
In support of small businesses, we partner with Reference Solutions (formerly Reference USA), to demonstrate how to use the database and expand your clientele. The SF Office of Small Business will offer small business programs soon.
