Keeping You Safe:  a Self Defense Workshop.

This workshop uses Destiny Arts Center’s 5 Fingers of Violence Prevention to teach critical self-defense techniques. Students will develop awareness, confidence and self-defense techniques that can aid them in potentially dangerous situations as well as their everyday lives. They will learn the signs of threatening situations, how to avoid them once they’ve been identified and how and when to apply their self-defense skills if necessary. Destiny Instructor,  Alonzo Young has studied, practiced and taught martial arts for over 35 years throughout Asia and the United States. He has Black Belts and instructor certifications in Aikido, Tai Chi, Kenpo and White Lotus Gung Fu. In addition to his martial arts training, he is a certified IMPACT Bay Area (personal self defense) instructor, leadership/management development trainer, as well as, a Non-Violent Communication (NVC) and Conscious EmbodimentLeadership coach. Alonzo is thrilled to bring his knowledge of the craft and his passion for working with youth to the San Francisco Public Library!
