7/22/2018
1:00 - 3:00

Public Knowledge Branch (SFMOMA)

151 3rd Street, San Francisco CA 94103

A Crochet Jam is a public, art-making event focused on relaxation and human connection led by local artist Ramekon O’Arwisters. Come learn one crochet stitch and then create an art piece using the crochet hooks and fabric strips provided. The program is designed to be a meditative practice with no prescribed outcome for the creative process. Participants will be able to keep their creations.

O’Arwisters started Crochet Jam in 2012. His social-art practice is rooted in a cherished childhood memory steeped in the African-American tradition of weaving that brings people together in the creation of large free form rag rugs.
