photo Monica ChenPianist Monica Chew plays music from Brazil, Turkey, and France, as well as several new works and composer Maurice Ravel's masterpiece, Gaspard de la Nuit. Monica Chew is an Oakland-based pianist who seeks to illuminate and entertain. Her 2017 album, Tender and Strange, features works by Bartók, Janáček, Messiaen, Takemitsu, and Scriabin.
