DESCRIPTION:<p>Listen to the soothing sound of the <i>koto</i>&nbsp;琴 or the&nbsp;Japanese zither. Koto player extraordinaire and instructor Kazuma Ishikawa 石川歌寿万 will be performing both traditional and contemporary Japanese pieces, joined by Haruka Shimizu 清水遙.&nbsp;She is the director of Ishikawa Kazuma Kai, and has been teaching and performing koto in the Bay Area, throughout California and Japan.&nbsp;Her mission is to epitomize the Japanese spirit and culture through Japanese music here in the Bay Area and United States.&nbsp;</p>
