Longer life expectancy has increased the need for caregivers, and many couples are starting families later in life. A 2013 Pew Research report found nearly half of adults in their 40s and 50s have a parent over 65 and are supporting a child. About one in seven provides financial support to both. As a result, many in their 40s, 50s, and 60s juggle responsibilities for both older and younger generations.
