DESCRIPTION:<p>Discuss<i> </i><a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S93C1938198"><i>The Hummingbird's Daughter</i></a>—One City One Book #2&nbsp;(2006), an epic historical novel of a young saint escaping death from Pulitzer Prize finalist Luis Alberto Urrea, author of <a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S93C3523639"><i>The House of Broken Angels</i></a>. This historical novel is based on Urrea's real great-aunt Teresita, who had healing powers and was acclaimed as a saint. Urrea has researched historical accounts and family records for years to get an accurate story.</p><p>Celebrate 20 years of great authors. Together, we&nbsp;read&nbsp;them&nbsp;all. This fall, SFPL will announce the 20th <a href="https://sfpl.org/books-and-media/read/about-one-city-one-book">One City One Book</a>&nbsp;selection, continuing a cherished tradition of bringing the community together through shared&nbsp;reading and discussion. To celebrate these <a href="http://on.sfpl.org/ReadThemAll">powerful stories that have connected us over the years</a>, we will host dedicated <a href="https://sfpl.org/events/#!/filters?field_event_topic_target_id=465">book clubs for each title throughout the summer</a>—offering thoughtful conversations and a chance to reflect on two decades of collective&nbsp;reading.
