DESCRIPTION:<p>San Francisco based novelist and filmmaker Tara Dorabji will read from award winning debut novel <a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S93C6712578"><i>Call Her Freedom</i></a> and show her documentary about the Kashmir conflict, followed by a Q&A session another local author Ayesha Mattu. Bay Area poet Huma Sheikh will start off the progrm with her topic related poems.</p><p>Tara Dorabji is the author of the novel <i>Call Her Freedom</i>, winner of the Books Like Us Grand Prize. Her award-winning documentary film series on human rights defenders in Kashmir has screened at festivals across Asia and the United States. Her writing appears in outlets such as Al Jazeera, the Chicago Quarterly and in anthologies including <i>Good Girls Marry Doctors</i> and <i>All the Women in My Family Sing</i>.
