In conjunction with his new book Do What You Fear Most: The History of the Velvet Underground, rock music historian and author Richie Unterberger presents a program on the Velvet Underground. He'll show, play, and discuss film and rare audio clips of this groundbreaking band, who merged taboo-breaking lyrics, avant-garde instrumentation, and hard-charging rock'n'roll on classics largely written and sung by their leader, Lou Reed. The contributions of other members to the Velvets will also be covered, particularly those of John Cale and Nico. Signed copies of his book will be available for purchase at the event.
