<p><a href="https://www.blackfreighterpress.com/catalog/p/baby-axolotls-y-old-pochos"><u>Josiah Luis Alderete</u></a>, curator and host of Speaking Axolotl, brings together a celebration of Latinx poetry featuring <a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S93C4766994"><u>Alan Chazaro</u></a>, <a href="https://www.nomadicpress.org/store/ituzaingo">Florencia Milito</a> and <a href="https://www.nomadicpress.org/store/hurricanesloveaffairsandotherdisasters"><u>Susana Praver-Perez</u></a>.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.florenciamilito.com/"><strong><u>Florencia Milito</u></strong></a> is a bilingual poet, writer and translator whose work has appeared or is forthcoming in <em>ZYZZYVA, Indiana Review, Catamaran, Digging through the Fat, Latinas: Struggles & Protests in 21st Century USA, Z&oacute;calo Public Square, </em>among others. A Hedgebrook and Community of Writers alumna, CantoMundo fellow and former San Francisco Grotto fellow, her writing has been influenced by her early experience fleeing Argentina&rsquo;s 1976 coup, subsequent childhood in Venezuela and immigration to the United States at the age of nine. In 2020, Milito read at the 8th Winter Warmer Poetry Festival in Cork, Ireland. Her bilingual collection <a href="https://www.nomadicpress.org/store/ituzaingo"><em><u>Ituzaing&oacute;: Exiles and Reveries / exilios y ensue&ntilde;os</u></em></a><em> </em>was published in 2021 by Nomadic Press.</p>

<p><a href="https://msha.ke/alanchazaro/"><strong><u>Alan Chazaro</u></strong></a> is the author of <em>This Is Not a Frank Ocean Cover Album</em> (Black Lawrence Press, 2019), <em>Pi&ntilde;ata Theory </em>(Black Lawrence Press, 2020) and <em>Notes from the Eastern Span of the Bay Bridge </em>(Ghost City Press, 2021). He is a graduate of June Jordan&rsquo;s Poetry for the People program at UC Berkeley and a former Lawrence Ferlinghetti Fellow at the University of San Francisco. <p><strong>Susana Praver-P&eacute;rez</strong> is a Pushcart-nominated poet and a winner of the San Francisco Foundation/Nomadic Press Literary Prize for Poetry (2021). Born and raised in New York, Praver-P&eacute;rez currently resides in Oakland, California where she works as a Physician Assistant at La Cl&iacute;nica de la Raza. Their work has appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies. <strong>Josiah Luis Alderete</strong> is a full blooded Pocho, spanglish speaking poeta who first learned how to write poes&iacute;a in the kitchen of his Mama&rsquo;s Mexican restaurant. He was one of the founding member of&nbsp; Bay Area outspoken word group &ldquo;<a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/search?query=The+Molotov+Mouths&searchType=smart"><u>The Molotov Mouths</u></a>&rdquo; and is the curator and host of&nbsp;the long running monthly Chicano/Latinx reading series &ldquo;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/Speaking-Axolotl-243297536383923/"><u>Speaking Axolotl</u></a>&rdquo;. This year he had the honor of being one of the recipients of the&nbsp; 2021 San Francisco Foundation/Nomadic Press Literary Award and also had his first book of poems <a href="https://www.blackfreighterpress.com/catalog/p/baby-axolotls-y-old-pochos"><em><u>Baby Axolotls & Old Pochos</u></em></a> published by Black Freighter Press.</p>
