<p>Fauna Solomon is a former teacher and musician currently residing in Washington, DC. Born in Guyana, South America into a musical family, Solomon started playing the steelpan at the age of 5 and has performed for audiences of all ages on stages around the country. Her father Phil Solomon&mdash;who makes the instruments&mdash;is the inventor of the modern steelpan and started the first steelpan manufacturing company in the US.</p>
