DESCRIPTION:<p>Rock and soul music historian and author <a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/search?query=Unterberger%2C%20Richie&searchType=author">Richie Unterberger</a> presents a virtual program on <a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/search?query=turner%2C%20tina&searchType=author">Tina Turner</a>, the soul music great who recently passed away.&nbsp;Focusing on her prime from the 1960s through the 1980s, the event will&nbsp;spotlight classic performances of songs like "River Deep, Mountain High,"&nbsp;"It's Gonna Work Out Fine," "Proud Mary," and "What's Love Got to Do With&nbsp;It."</p>

<p><a href="http://www.richieunterberger.com/">Richie Unterberger</a>&nbsp;is the author of numerous rock history books, including volumes on the Beatles, the Who, the Velvet Underground, Bob Marley and 1960s folk-rock. He teaches courses on rock and soul music history at several Bay Area colleges. His newest book,&nbsp;<em><a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S93C5107812">San Francisco: Portrait of a City</a>&nbsp;</em>was published in 2022&nbsp;by Taschen.</p>
