DESCRIPTION:<p>Explore the connections between humans and the ocean environment in this short lecture. The oceans provide food, fresh air, medicine, recreational opportunities, and cultural benefits. Changes to the ocean environment, including sea-level rise, harmful algal blooms and plastic pollution pose emerging threats to human well-being.</p>

<p>Dr. Matthew Gribble, recently edited a textbook on this subject: <em><a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S93C6084804">Oceans and Human Health 2<sup>nd</sup> Ed: Opportunities and Impacts</a>.</em> Gribble is the Associate Chief for Research in Occupational, Environmental, and Climate Medicine at UCSF and directs an oceans and human health research program.</p>
