Listen to original songs and music of the Cockettes shows in a musical experience to remember with Cockette musical director and creator, Scrumbly Koldewyn and special guests: Kitten on the Keys, Noah Hayden, Birdie-Bob Watt, Andy Arcade and Steven Satyricon. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

 

This program is one of a series of public programs related to the exhilarating exhibition, The Cockettes: Acid Drag & Sexual Anarchy, on display through August 11, 2022 in the Hormel LGBTQIA Center on the 3rd floor of the Main Library. Recordings of select programs will be available on the SFPL YouTube Channel.

 

Scrumbly Koldewyn is a founding member/performer of The Cockettes and wrote original music for their shows. Other performing groups included The Distractions and The Jesters Vocal Trio. He has composed for approximately 50 original theatrical productions and has been an accompanist/musical director and performer in theater and cabaret since the 1970s. Currently, he is the music director at Stagebridge in Oakland, and has done the same at Thrillpeddlers in San Francisco, with his own music for Cockettes’ revivals including Pearls Over ShanghaiTinsel Tarts In a Hot ComaHot GreeksVice Palace and his new shows, The Jewels of ParisThe Untamed Stage and Amazon Apocalypse. He has scored two films: The Cockettes and Alaska Far Away.
