Learn the legal rights of survivors in the workplace—how survivors can keep their jobs while accessing services or treatment, get accommodations to safely remain at work, or obtain benefits when working is not an option. Presented by Maria Tapia-Hernandez, Project Survive Fellow and Attorney, Legal Aid at Work.

Tapia-Hernandez is the SURVIVE Fellow at Legal Aid at Work. Her work focuses on improving the economic stability, health and well-being of survivors of violence by advocating for survivors who have been subjected to unlawful practices on the job. Her previous experience includes work at Bay Area Legal Aid, where she helped domestic violence survivors apply for protective orders and assisted with custody, visitation and other safety planning issues. She clerked with Legal Aid of Napa Valley and the Immigration Center for Women and Children. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from UC Berkeley and a JD from UC Hastings.
