Learn the basics of painting with watercolor using food coloring in a guided art activity for any art level. For ages 7 and older.

Supply List:

  • Pen (any color);
  • White watercolor paper, or white craft paper, or two sheets of plain white printer paper (8.5” x 11” or larger);
  • A soft paint brush;
  • Half a cup of water;
  • A plate;
  • Paper towel or a sponge;
  • One or more liquid food coloring (any color)
  • Optional: Masking tape

 

(T)sedey Gebreyes, born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is a multidisciplinary artist, educator and beekeeping enthusiast. Her creative work and teaching style are greatly influenced by the wonderful visual artists, theater performers and storytellers of her childhood community. After moving to the United States, she studied Studio Arts at University of Missouri, Kansas City, and Fine Arts and Spanish at University of Veracruz, Mexico.

 

Following her passion, she moved to San Francisco in 2007 where she has held a variety of positions including Adjunct Educator at SF MoMA, Teaching Artist at the de Young Museum, Co-founder and Teaching Artist at MiCultura Art Project, After School Program Manager at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco and the San Francisco Unified School District.
