Activity: SF Ballet's Nutcracker Inspired Chair Dance & Oral History

A partnership with San Francisco Ballet
Saturday, 12/18/2021
11:00 - 12:00

Celebrate 77 Years of Nutcracker! Join us for a presentation on San Francisco Ballet’s long history of performing this timeless ballet, followed by a fun and easy Nutcracker-inspired Chair Dance Class.

The dance class is done entirely in a chair and is suitable for all abilities and ages. Wear loose and comfortable clothing.

This holiday season, gather friends and family to celebrate the return of Nutcracker, an enchanting ballet with a feel-good story about the wonder of childhood. The American holiday tradition of Nutcracker performances started here in San Francisco in 1944. This December, San Francisco Ballet celebrates a joyous return to a magical holiday tradition. Live performances of Nutcracker in the SF War Memorial Opera House run from Dec. 10 – 30, tickets start at $19.
