I Wanted To Be a Man With a Gun, by Bay Area filmmaker William Farley, explores the experiences of three WWII United States soldiers through the prism of their 90-year-old selves, reliving brutal frontline combat and openly discussing the practice of taking revenge on the enemy, the consequences of which still linger heavily in their lives. The film weaves together candid interviews, an original score and rare archival footage to reveal how no soldier escapes the moral trauma of 'kill or be killed.' This event concludes with a live panel discussion with William Farley and others involved in the making of the film.
