1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. How to Be a Writer From Many Worlds: A Free Writing Workshop Open to All with Meredith Talusan. (Eventbrite registration required.) Those of us with multiple and often conflicting identities have a tendency to struggle with which parts of us to tap into when we write, but it is out of these complexities that our voices can emerge. This workshop will begin with an open discussion of what it's like to write across identities and proceed to remarks and exercises based on the needs and interests of workshop participants. Community Partner: the Philippine Studies Department at City College of San Francisco.

Please visit the Festival marketplace in the Latino/Hispanic Community Room on the Lower Level: Book and indie comic company vendors, author tables, author signing, and community organizations. Open Saturday, 10:00 a.m - 5:45 p.m., Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

The 6th Filipino American International Book Festival will be taking place on October 15-16, 2022 at the San Francisco Public Library. Come celebrate our Filipino/a/x authors.
Presented by PAWA (Philippine American Writers and Artists) in partnership with the San Francisco Public Library, this year’s theme is Hiraya/Emergence: Writing towards the Future.
Hiraya is a Tagalog word for imagination, for dreaming, the emergence of the flower and the fruit. What does Hiraya mean to you?
