DESCRIPTION:<p>Educational Content Curator for the San Francisco Opera, Cole Thomason-Redus,&nbsp;presents&nbsp;a historical and musical survey of 150 years of American opera. &nbsp;Major works including Jake Heggie's <i>Dead Man Walking</i>, Philip Glass' <i>Einstein on the Beach</i>, and John Adam's <i>Nixon in China</i>&nbsp;will be discussed, alongside works that share similarities with the genre of musical theater, such as Scott Joplin's <i>Treemonisha, Gershwin's</i>&nbsp;<i>Porgy and Bess, </i>and<i> </i>Bernstein's <i>Candide </i>and <i>Trouble in Tahiti.</i></p><p>Space limited.
