DESCRIPTION:<p>Listen to local poets and share your own work at this monthly open mic event. Show up in person or attend via Zoom.</p><p>This month's featured poet is <strong>Milo Starr Johnson.</strong></p><p><strong>About the group: </strong>1428 Poets started pre-pandemic at 1428 Haight St., San Francisco, by the late, great Richard Sanderell: poet, activist, Vietnam vet, Indigenous Peoples advocate and great human. Now, Dan Brady and Antoinette Vella Payne host the ongoing open mic and featured poet readings at the North Beach Library.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>About the featured poet: </strong>Milo Starr Johnson<strong> </strong>is a multidisciplinary artist, a seeker by nature committed to changing inner and outer realms with love and mischief. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, she completed the professional three-year theater training program at ACT’s Young Conservatory before becoming part of the SF punk scene in the early 80s. She was awarded a screenwriting fellowship from the American Film Institute and spent two decades performing solo shows in Los Angeles before returning back to the Bay Area.
