DESCRIPTION:<p>Join us in a book talk with Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo, creators of the award-winning serialized graphic novel, <a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/search?query=%22Tan%2C+Budjette%22&amp;searchType=author"><em>Trese</em></a><em>,</em> set in Metro Manila, Philippines. A place where the dark worlds of Philippine folklore and lower mythology and their creatures exist side-by-side with the human world. <strong>Baldisimo and </strong><strong>Tan</strong> will also talk about their upcoming Netflix series and more.</p>

<p><strong>Kajo Baldisimo </strong>is a cartoonist and co-creator of <em>Trese</em>. He is an avid reader of Filipino komiks from the 80s and 90s. He draws storyboards for a living and creates comic books to live. After spending forty years of his life in Makati City, he is now permanently residing in Davao City trying to establish an animal shelter together with his wife and son.</p>

<p><strong>Budjette Tan</strong> is the writer and co-creator of <em>Trese</em>. He also collaborated with Bow Guerrero and JB Tapia in creating <em>The Dark Colony Books</em>. He’s also co-editor and co-writer of the Alejandro Pardo books with David Hontiveros. Recently, he co-edited with Charis Locke the Southeast-Asian comic book <em>SOUND: A Comic Anthology</em>, published by Different Engine. He currently works for the LEGO Agency in Denmark and lives there with his superwife and their little superboy.&nbsp;</p>
