SUMMARY:Sustainability in Times of Scarcity: From World War II to Pandemic
DESCRIPTION:
The Government Information Center and Magazines & Newspaper Center collaborate to share an exhibit about historic and current food scarcity in the United States.

To the world, the United States is the land of plenty and of opportunity. Our agriculture, supermarkets, restaurants, slow food movement and culinary industries seem to show supply far outpacing demand. In truth, the United States is also a country with food deserts, and a home to many families and individuals who are unable to afford basic groceries.

The exhibit begins with World War II rationing and follows food movements in the United States to the present day.
