DESCRIPTION:<p>Celebrate&nbsp;summer with the Library, at&nbsp;San Francisco Botanical Garden's&nbsp;Great Meadow.</p>

<p>Admission is free for San Francisco residents, those qualifying for the Museums for All program, Gardens members, Veterans and children ages four and under.&nbsp;Find out&nbsp;<a href="https://gggp.org/visit/admissions-hours/">more information</a>&nbsp;on San Francisco Botanical Gardens admissions, hours and accessibility.</p>

<p><strong>11 a.m.&ndash; 1 p.m.</strong>,&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://www.feministbirdclub.org/">Feminist Bird Club</a></strong>, birding session: Walk the gardens with Feminist Bird Club's&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/accounts/login/?next=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.instagram.com%2Ffbc.sfbay%2F&is_from_rle">San Francisco Bay Area Chapter</a>&nbsp;in search of feathered friends. Masks are strongly encouraged during the session.</p>

<p><strong>11:30 a.m. &ndash; 12 p.m.,</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong><a href="https://ensambles-sf.com/">Ensambles Ballet Folklorico de San Francisco</a></strong>:&nbsp;Watch the beautiful cultural heritage of Mexico through folkloric dance.</p>

<p><strong>12:15 p.m. &ndash; 12:45 p.m.</strong>,&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://www.sendysantamaria.com/">Sendy Santamaria</a></strong>, author-illustrator:&nbsp;Santamaria is the Library's 2024 Summer Stride artist and author of children's book,&nbsp;<em><a href="https://sfpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S93C5831748">Yenebi's Drive to School</a></em>. Listen as she reads aloud&nbsp;her book and pick up a free copy of&nbsp;<em>Yenebi's Drive to School,</em>&nbsp;to get signed by the author. Space limited.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>1 p.m. &ndash; 1:45 p.m.</strong>, Sendy Santamaria, mixed media art workshop: Walk the gardens and create art with Santamaria. Art kits are available on&nbsp;a first-come, first-served basis. Space limited.</p>

See&nbsp;screen-printing in action, pull a print yourself, meet the&nbsp;artist&nbsp;and take home a free poster. Haight Street Art Center serves San Francisco&rsquo;s thriving&nbsp;poster&nbsp;art and artist&nbsp;communities&nbsp;with education and cultural development programs&nbsp;and exhibitions.</p>

	<p>Zine-making with <strong><a href="https://www.sfzinefest.org/">SF Zine Fest</a></strong>,&nbsp;seeking&nbsp;to advance the do-it-yourself ethos by fostering community throughout the Bay Area.&nbsp;They celebrate and support independent writers, artists and creators, allowing them to share their work with an ever-growing audience in exhibitions and public events.</p>

	<p>Stamp-making activity and prizes&nbsp;with&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://www.instagram.com/galeriadelaraza">Galer&iacute;a de la Raza</a>. </strong>Create your own stamp design with organic and recycled materials.&nbsp;Galer&iacute;a de la Raza is a non-profit dedicated to promoting Xicanx/Latinx art and culture. Our &ldquo;creative place keeping&rdquo; ethos is rooted in social inclusion and justice, where community arts are central to navigating the complex intersection of urban development, social inequality, affordable housing, and the historical-cultural legacies of communities of color.&nbsp;</p>
