If you enjoy some history in your fiction, spend an hour hashing out the details of—and the history behind—this month’s selection: Alka Joshi's The Henna Artist. In Jaipur, India, in the 1950s, young Lakshmi has made a name for herself as a henna artist and enjoys living independently until her estranged abusive husband shows up one day with a younger sister she didn't know she had in tow.

This is a hybrid event. Registration is required for Zoom attendance. In-person attendance does not require registration.
