Jarrel Phillips, San Francisco educator, journalist, curator and performing artist will share a visual presentation on the reimagining and recreating of our lives and  how the spirit of play is important to our individual and collective well being.

Phillips uses film, photography, writing and movement as mediums for sharing, connecting and documenting stories. His work emphasizes folkloric arts and oral storytelling, especially within the African diaspora and its global presence and influence. Phillips explores heritage, values and community through a social-cultural lens. He pulls from his own life experiences as a San Francisco native and world traveler. He believes our individual and collective stories build bridges across cultures and communities and spark dialogue that inspires personal and collective growth and transformation.
