Watch on YouTube

Jones is a performer, teacher, director and co-artistic director of the critically acclaimed performance company Cultural Odyssey. Jones founded and directs The Medea Project: Theater for Incarcerated Women, an award-winning performance workshop committed to the personal and social transformation of women, now in its 23rd year.

The Medea Project: Theater for Incarcerated Women / HIV Circle utilizes storytelling as a vehicle to peruse social change in the lives of female offenders. The methodology creates a space that encourages women prisoners to view their lives as mythical creatures. The process asks that each woman mines her personal experience as a means of telling the truth and practicing revolution.

The Medea Project, supported by the Arts in Corrections program, is designed to have a positive impact on the social and emotional well-being of women experiencing incarceration and promote the healing and interpersonal transformation both inside and outside of the boundaries of institutions.
