Aida Salazar is an award-winning author and arts activist whose writings for adults and children explore issues of identity and social justice. She is the author of the middle grade verse novels, The Moon Within and forthcoming The Land of the Cranes (Fall 2020).

Rebecca Balcárcel authored The Other Half of Happy, a Pura Belpré Honor Book and ALSC Notable Book. She is an Associate Professor of English at Tarrant County College and you can find her on YouTube as the SixMinuteScholar.

Reina Luz Alegre has dreamed of becoming an author since the second grade, and grew up to work on various other professional dreams—including as a freelance journalist and lawyer—before debuting her first novel, The Dream Weaver, a Junior Library Guild Selection.

Las Musas Books is the first collective of women and non-binary (identifying on the female spectrum) Latinx middle-grade (MG), picture book (PB) and young adult (YA) authors to come together in an effort to support and amplify each other’s debut or sophomore novels in US children’s literature. Las Musas represents Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Uruguay, just to name a few.
