In celebration of Kalevala Day, February 28, the Finnish National Epic, Rent's set will include arrangements of folk songs inspired by these poems (runo) and Finnish mythology. The Kalevala is noted for being a big inspiration for J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. The program will also include some jazz ballads.
