In Chinese culture, 2026 marks the year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of intensity, independence, transformation and dramatic change—themes that the Library draws upon for its programming throughout January and February.

As we live, learn and play on the traditional homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone, the Library invites its community to join in recognizing the enduring contributions of Native peoples, not just this month, but all year long.
